Making your latte, working with the motto "just say yes," dealing with the hobos, the clueless, the regulars, and amazing(ly dumb) customers. I'm your starbucks barista.

Hey yall!!

What’s up friends?  I’m doing most awesomely, and I hope you are as well.

Many of you have been super sweet asking about the book.  WELL lemme tell you, I went thru so many opinions on it.  At first as I was so ready, writing so much more material, and collecting it all in a format I really liked.  Then I got a new job at a cafe as a waitress and barista, and I felt like such a phony talking on and on about trivial things like frappuccinos.  (especially when I could upgrade my coffee customer talk to include those crazy customers I had as a waitress).  Now, I think I might get back to it.  We’ll see.

I love having creative projects.  This blog was definitely a fun one.  I’m also really focused on singing and making some awesome music (AHEMLISAMOHAR.COM).  AND I’m now announcing my 3rd project to you!  I think you might like it

My friend and I are recording a weekly podcast!  Its us talking about a few relevant topics, usually involving pop culture and doused in our silly banter.

I’m reblogging a little snippet from an early post more than a week ago.  We have one podcast completed.  The full 25min is on tumbler as well as the show divided up into clips.

IF YOU’RE INTERESTED PLEASE VISIT, FOLLOW, REBLOG US AT LISASCOTTBRUNCH.TUMBLR.COM

(This ,ight be interesting for some of you to hear what I sound like after reading my stuff.  oh and I sound kinda dumb in our first podcast, but its post brunch, so its okay.

ALSO how is everyone?  thoughts/feelings?  this is a safe place; let’s share.

Today was an extra special Brunch for Scott and I.

Wait let me get yall up to date on what the meal means to us.  Last year, when I was living (read: crashing) at Scott’s Spanish Harlem apartment Its been our weekly tradition to meet on Sundays for a super talkative brunch.  We’ve hit up the Upper East Side diners, homey Williamsburg spots, East Village cafes, more sophisticated Soho/Chelsea restaurants*, etc.

During our meal we do the obvious updating the other on our week, but also talk a lot pop culture and wherever that takes us.  (example: Thursday’s episode of Community, how we just want Amy Winehouse to get over her issues because we really liked Frank, our favorite NPR podcast, puns, a liza minnelli/james franco hybrid being my spirit animal, our hopes of our success surpassing those awards we won in high school (okay, this might be a legit concern because I won best high school actress in the cincinnati area and scott won like… best piano player in the midwest.  or something.  whatever he was mad good and people let him know it.), and other topicssss.

Besides Brunch, Scott and I share a love of podcasts, banter, and our conversation topics so we did the obvious.

We joined the circus! ha just kidding, guys. we decided to start a podcast!

Today was the first day we recorded, and it. was. a. blaaasst.  We developed a format we’re going to try, and by the end of the session we got a bit more comfortable and into a better rhythm.  It took us twice as long as it should have because we kept laughing at how awkward and dumb we sounded. Its not as easy as we thought it would be.  We have to do some editing on it, and hopefully we’ll release it on Tuesday!!

Because of my laziness and the fact that we don’t live close to each other, I’m pretty damn impressed with our dedication to weekly conversation over pancakes.  Hopefully we’ll keep up with the podcast as well :)

XOXO lisa

*I don’t really prefer these because they require a pre-brunch shower.
