This is a video that was produced by my local coffee shop, Ritual Roasters of San Francisco. Good tips for people who might want to try french press from home. They made a few other videos that you can find on YouTube or through the Ritual Coffee site, which was recently redesigned and looks fantastic. I feel like a link is the least I can do for them given that I mooch free WiFi off of them several days a week.
making a french press at home is so much more satisfying than a mr coffee maker. We get this customer who comes in every single night with his own bag of our coffee and wants us to make it for him in a french press. He’s not all that friendly & I just get a sketchy vibe from him that I can’t get rid of no matter how hard I try. At first I thought he was homeless (he spent like an hour in the bathroom), but I know that he lives just close to the store. We’ve mentioned to him that he can buy a french press, but I guess he likes us having to do it for him. But seriously Starbucks isn’t his third place, but his first & it just baffles me why he would do this night after night. One of my co-workers and I were thinking of buying him one as a gift, but we figured he would bring the coffee and the pot in and still have us do it for him.
Maybe it would work if we gave him this video and a hot water tap in his kitchen
